Non-Sachivalaya cadre staff get a pay hike

The Gujarat government has decided to revise the grade pay of its non-Sachivalaya cadre (secretariat) employees, allowing them parity on this with employees of the Sachivalaya cadre. This would mean a hike of Rs 200-400 for employees in various grades.

A government release said employees in the pay band of Rs 5,500-9,000 and Rs 6,500-10,500 and presently on a pay scale of Rs 9,300-34,800 will get a Rs 200-400 raise in their grade pay, in line with the recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission.

Employees in the earlier pay band of Rs 500-9,000 who are currently enjoying the pay scale of Rs 9,300-34,800, will gain a raise of Rs 200 in their grade-pay; from Rs 4,400 from Rs 4,200. Those in the earlier pay band of Rs 6,500-10,500 and presently getting the pay scale of Rs 9,300-34,800 will benefit from an increase of Rs 400 in their grade pay, making it Rs 4,600.

This will be with retrospective effect from April 1, 2010 and the payment will be done in cash, the release said
